A little about me...

​

I’m a children’s book author and storyteller living in Austin, Texas, with my husband, Tom, our golden retriever, Charlie, and Tito, our teddy bear hamster. My inspiration comes from our three grown children, who live nearby. I began writing stories when they were little, during a time when bedtime story time was the highlight of our days.

We spent countless hours at book fairs, libraries and bookstores, building our family library and filling the kids’ shelves with treasured books. Those moments—immersed in stories—became a favorite way to connect, spark imagination, and learn about the world together. I also loved volunteering at my kids' schools, especially in reading programs, where I shared my stories, talked about the writing process, and helped inspire a love for books in both my own children and others in the community.

Now that my kids are grown, I’ve reignited my passion for creating fun and inspiring stories after a busy few decades on pause! My books celebrate imagination, adventure, and heartfelt messages, encouraging young readers to dream big, embrace their uniqueness, and find beauty in what makes them one of a kind. I also strive to weave themes of kindness, acceptance, diversity, and compassion into my stories.

When I’m not crafting new tales or working my day job, I enjoy spending time with our family, traveling, and exploring nature through trail running, biking, and paddling—always on the lookout for inspiration for my next magical story!
